Evergreen explores the lives of two disillusioned teenagers as they come to grips with the ephemeral nature of human life. The score of this film was inspired by Karen O’s work in Where The Wild Things Are. As such, we hired a vocalist and rented a studio to capture a very organic production.

When Lily Lee tells her father, John, that she would like to quit school to become a professional gamer, Mr. Lee disapprovingly takes action. He hires an online ‘hit man’ to kill Lily’s character during a gaming tournament in the hopes of discouraging her from pursuing this path. The music for this film was inspired odd mix 90s action thrillers and Jon Brion's work on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. Reverse pianos, delicate arpeggios and orchestral sampling was used to colour Lily's world and enhance the tension between her and her overbearing father.

Hashtag Cold tells the story of two people who use social media to opt "in" and "out" of reality. For this score, a simple blend of acoustic guitar and electronic sounds were used to symbolize human drama interacting with technology. The film was written and directed by Imogen Grace.

A cluster of strangers come-to in a seemingly abandoned industrial complex and must work together to discover the ultimate truth. Shot in Chechnya with local actors and crew, this experimental film draws on the work of Terrence Malick and David Lynch to create an original and spellbinding existential journey. For this film I used a bowed guitar and cello and juxtaposed them with modern synths and spectral soundscapes. The result is a compelling and unique piece of cinema.
Mars is Laughing At Us
‘Mars’ tells the difficult story of a group of friends who experience the tragic Toronto shooting of Sammy Yatim. This score has a certifiably cinematic tone: swelling strings, powerful drums and delicate piano melodies coalesce to give the picture an unabashedly ‘symphonic’ quality. Directed by Jonathan Dubsky.

‘NOBODY’ tells the story of an Indian woman who is awakened by an unlikely urban sage. To explore these themes aurally, traditional instruments like the Indian Sarod and Bansuri were used. Atmospheric and ambient textures were also employed to parallel the detachment experienced by 'NOBODY'S' characters. A film by Fenstar Productions.
‘Blackbox’ was a special project in which a bamboo Bansuri flute is played throughout the film by its main character. I had the challenge of producing flute sounds for this character in postproduction — no easy task. Delicate reverb was also used to create an ‘otherworldly’ atmosphere. Produced by Fenstar Productions.

For this promotional video the client requested a heavy Rock n' Roll song with a modern twist. I drew inspiration from the Black Keys and the White Stripes. For the guitar, I used Native Instrument's Guitar Rig 5 which allowed me to tap into several classic fuzz distortion pedals. The Organ sound came from an old Jennings Univox preset.
